“The Fall of Infamy” (diptych)
For Celebrate 250 — This work reflects on the fragility of democracy in moments of heightened political fervor. Inspired by the iconography of leadership in the digital age, The Fall of Infamy reimagines the figure of power through a transhuman lens—amplifying both its allure and its peril. The diptych questions the consequences of charismatic authority, particularly when amplified by technological systems and ideological extremism. Positioned within the 250-year arc of American history, it serves as both a warning and a mirror: power concentrated without accountability risks undermining the very ideals the nation was built upon. - The diptych employs a negative/positive photographic contrast to symbolize visibility and erasure—what history remembers, and what it chooses to forget.
