Finding it easy to create cartoons that criticize the current Administration, I challenged myself to create a Democracy affirming image that incorporates many of the traditional American symbols of freedom and liberty as well as contemporary concepts of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). The artwork, entitled "A DEI Fourth of July", is a digitally created collage composed of legally licensed images and depicts a crowd of protesters holding patriotic signs against a backdrop of bursting fireworks.
